The purpose of preventive maintenance is to try to maintain the equipment in optimum working condition and to prevent any unplanned downtime due to breakdowns


Oiling the Jaws

  • Disconnect the blind rivet tool from the compressed air supply

  • Unscrew the steel head sleeve (item 2)

  • Dip the complete jaw mechanism up to the o-ring (item 3) into an oil batch

    OR wet jaws (item 5) with oil and allow it to drip off

  • Re-assemble in reverse order.


Changing Jaws

  1. Disconnect the blind rivet setting tool from the compressed air supply.

  2. Unscrew steel head sleeve (No. 2)

  3. Unscrew jaw housing (No. 4).

  4. Remove jaws (No. 5).

  5. Clean jaw housing (No. 4) and grease sliding surfaces.

  6. Fit new jaws (No. 5) from the front (they are held by the grease).

  7. Reassemble in reverse order, ensuring that all parts are fixed tight.
